Little Owls Knit Shop
*PARKING IN REAR*
"across from Cornerstone,
next to Rose Marie's Antiques"
Little Owls is teaming up with knitforcharity.org to knit and crochet items for those in need. Please join us every last Sunday of the month from 12-2. Free patterns will be provided. Beginners welcome! Items that we will be knitting: scarves, hats, squares to make blankets and whatever else you’d like.
Second and Last Sunday of every month.
Join us Friday night, March 14th from 7pm-9pm for a Downton Abbey **costume** party. Show up in any Downton-Abbey-like costume that you can put together and enjoy tea, biscuits, scones, fake British accents, a costume contest and 1920s music.
Where do I find a costume?
- Antique stores often have fun hats and stoles for reasonable prices.
- Local thrift stores may also have dresses or costume elements like headbands.
- Visit a craft store for some elastic and a feather and create your own headdress.
Hmmmm, let's see...where did I put my tiara...
Spring Special! New reduced cost!
Have you been trying to knit socks but found yourself frustrated with double pointed needles? Then get rid of those DPNs and start knitting your socks using the Magic Loop method! Even if you're not into socks, Magic Loop is a wonderful technique for projects typically knit in the round using DPNs.
Techniques covered: knitting in the round using one long circular needle, basic sock construction, picking up stitches, and kitchener stitch. Must be comfortable with cast on, knit, purl, k2tog, ssk.
