Getting gauge is one of the first steps to a successful project.  This class will teach you the importance of gauge, how to measure for gauge, and what adjustments might need to be made in order to Get Your Gauge.

MATERIALS:  10% discount offered on all class supplies.  

  • Yarn:  smooth worsted weight yarn in light color, sufficient quantity to make up one 4" x 4" gauge swatch
  • US #8 needles 

SKILLS: Beginner Knitter, should have prior experience with Casting On, Knit and Purl stitches, and Binding Off.  

HOMEWORK: This swatch sample must be completed PRIOR to class and should be brought for use during class instruction.  Using size US8 needles, CO 36 sts.  Work 4 rows of Garter St.  Then while maintaining a 4 stitch Garter St right and left border, work 4 inches of Stockinette Stitch.  Finish with 4 row of Garter St and BO.
