CLASS DATES/TIMES:

  • Saturday, April 27th 1-4pm

INSTRUCTOR: Simone Kereit from OwlCat Designs

Learn 5 different ways for doing short rows and get to know the advantages and applications of using these different methods. We start with the Wrap and Turn (w&t) method most have heard of, then we will explore different ways to make your short rows blend more into different fabrics, by exploring the German, Japanese, Yarn over and Twin Stitch/Shadow Wrap methods. We will knit some swatches to internalize the different methods and if time permits, discuss where to use short rows if they are not already in the pattern and why, or when you might want to use a different method than wrap and turn now that you have your tool box filled with new tricks!

Techniques covered:  Wrap and Turn Short Rows,  German Short Rows,  Japanese Short Rows,  Yarn Over method,  Twin Stitch /Shadow Wrap method (my personal favorite!)
